I drove out to the docks where the whale watching boats depart, wondering where I would camp. The people pointed to the vacant area to the south. It was too busy for camping but I decided to go for a flight. Once in the air I discovered how beautiful this place is. The mud flats to the north looked good for boondocking. I took note of the route. to get there. (Coming into town take the first right that runs along the north side of the first houses, go straight, past the cemetary and follow the road thru the dump to the mud flats.) Be careful camping here! The mud flats may flood on a full moon. The tides chased me out on my last visit, fortunately I was prepared. Getting stuck here will be a hell of a mess. If you don't like mud sticking to your shoes - skip the trip.
